Remembrance Day at Molehill

Remembrance Day at Molehill

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month we joined together to remember all of those who have sacrificed their lives in the different wars over the years.

The Academy hall was a sea of red poppies as Year 6 opened our Remembrance Service with their performance of ‘Pack up your troubles’ and ‘It’s a Long Way to Tipperary’.

During the wars the soldiers, to keep up their spirits, traditionally sang these songs. Afterwards we listened to The Exhortation and a piece of music called the Last Post. Then the whole school fell silent for two minutes before listening to Reveille and the Kohima prayer. Year 6 closed our service with a prayer.
