The KS1 quiet area on the playground had long  been in need of a makeover to say the least! With the help of Mrs Grierson, the School Council appealed to a local charity organisation to see if they could help.

On Saturday 16th May 2015, Bearsted Round Table (  spent the day giving something back to the local community by fixing up this  neglected area. Work started at 8:30am with a team of about 12 volunteers who finally finished work on it at about 8 o’ clock that evening.

I am sure you will agree that the garden area now looks fantastic! On behalf of all of the children in KS1, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who gave up their Saturday to make this happen!

Getting stuck in!

The slabs go down next.

Next, the planters are built and put into place.

Adding the finishing touches.

Didn’t we do well?!
