On Thursday 21st June, Molehill Primary Academy were invited to Maidstone Hockey Club to take part in their Hockey World Cup against other schools from the local area. The children had the opportunity to train with members of the club and took part in a carousel of activities to help develop their hockey skills. The children learnt to pass, shoot, dribble, tackle, attack and defend as well as ‘sitting on the toilet’ (the children will demonstrate this for you if you ask).

During the tournament our players shone – the coaches commented on how well they performed and how they responded quickly to developmental critic to make great progress throughout the day.  The children thoroughly enjoyed their time with Maidstone Hockey Club and would like to thank all the coaches and members for their support and advice.

The day ended with a presentation where Maidstone Hockey Club made a special mention to a particular player who performed exceptionally and showed a talent for the sport – Honey was awarded with a goodie bag and has been requested to join their team! Well done Honey, we are very proud of you.

Every child has been given a voucher to attend some free coaching sessions and if any more children would like the chance to take part please see Miss Hurley-Gale as she will be able to put you in touch with the relevant people to take part in some taster session with the club.

Well done to the team for their hard work in the heat and for once again proving that Molehill are a strong team who support and build each other up.
