Children from Badger and Hedgehog Classes enjoyed a ‘hair raising’ and ‘shocking’ experience on Thursday 31st January when Jill Hatch visited from Future Schools. Pupils learned about static electricity and how to use this to actually bend the flow of water or make balloons attract or repel each other. They also saw how ordinary kitchen foods such as a potato and an orange contained enough power to operate a clock!
Children then had the experience of allowing themselves to be electrical conductors with electricity passing through their bodies and along a chain of children. Shocking, hair raising and awesome!
