Term 2

This term our Transdisciplinary theme is  – How we express ourselves.

Within this theme the children will be exploring the central idea – People recognise important events through celebrations and traditions.

We will be thinking about three key concepts –

  • Form – What important events do we celebrate? What traditions do we have to celebrate these events?
  • Function – Why do we have celebrations? Why do different events have different celebrations and tradtions? What is the purpose of celebrations?
  • Perspective – Why do different religions, cultures and countries have different celebrations? Why do we all have different traditions and ways of celebrating? Why do people across the world value celebrations differently?
